Jason Hayes has been named as the new principal at Lakeview Elementary School for the 2024-2025 school year. Hayes is currently the assistant principal at Mathews Elementary School, a position he has held for the last school year.
“I’m excited to begin my next career opportunity in District 50 at Lakeview,” Hayes stated. “I’m looking forward to working with the entire Lakeview school community as we strive to impact the lives of their students and staff on a daily basis.”
During his 24 years in public education, Hayes has worked as a teacher, assistant principal, and athletic coach. Hayes obtained his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Winthrop University and his master’s degree from Converse College. In 2016, Hayes received his Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University.
“Mr. Hayes has proven to be an exceptional educator during his time in our school district,” Superintendent Dr. Steve Glenn stated. “He has excelled during his career in public education with bringing the best out of his students, teachers, and staff. I fully anticipate this to continue with his new role at Lakeview.”
Hayes will replace current Lakeview Elementary School principal Kristen Hopkins who will be moving into an assistant principal role in District 50.
The district also announced other administrative changes following the June Board meeting.
Matt Baker - Assistant Principal at Mathews
Taylor Crosby - Assistant Principal at Pinecrest
Kristen Hopkins - Assistant Principal at Northside
Aaron Accord - Assistant Principal at Brewer
Thomas Fortman - Assistant Principal at GHS
Karen Teague - Assistant Principal at GHS
These administrative changes will become effective on July 1, 2024.
